Formula
KE = 1/2 m v^2

Discussion
The formula shows that the Kinetic Energy has 2 parts
m = mass
v = speed

So if you increase either the mass or the speed, you will get an increase in Kinetic Energy.

mass
speed

The amount of kinetic energy an object has depends on its "speed." Kinetic energy is energy a object has while its in motion so the key word is speed.

Hope this helps!
