The answer is
option B "then."
Then sounds the better fit for a third paragraph on a essay or even a recipe. Also its not option A because first would be the first step in a recipe, its not option C because finally would be the final step in the recipe, its also not option D because also would be the second step in a recipe.
Look at it this way: (to make more since)
.FIRST get the batter....
.ALSO make sure the oven is on 450 degrees....
.THEN put the batter in the oven...
.FINALLY Take the cake out of the oven....
