we need to balance the equation for combustion


5O2 + 2C2H2 -> 4CO2 + 2H2O

1 mol of c2h2=2 (12)+(2(1)=26g
1 mol of h20=12+2(16)=44g
1 mol of co2=2(1)+16=18g

52g of c2h2 • 1 mol / 26 g = 2mol c2h2
2 mol c2h2 • 4 co2/2 c2h2 = 4 mol co2
4 mol co2 • 44g/mol = 176g co2

52g c2h2 • 1mol/26g = 2 mol c2h2
2 mol c2h2 • 2 h2o / 2 c2h2 = 2 mol h2o

2.0 mol h2o • 18g / mol = 36 g h20
