It is a rule by which there is a limit on the time a creditor can sue you for a debt. This rule stipulates that in the case of old debts, old means more than six years, the creditor is not allowed to pursue you. This is especially if you have had no contact whatsoever either by telephone, email, or text. This becomes an old debt. It is statute barred, so the creditor can not pursue the debtor
