The value of QM is 12

How to solve for QM

The hypothesis

PQ = X

QR = y

QM = Z

MQR id a right angle triangle

we have

x^2 + y^2 =(18 + 8)^2 ---1

8^2 + Z^2 = y^2 ---- 2

18 + z^2 = y^2 --- 3

We have to equate 2 and 3 together

64 + z^2 + 324 + z^2 = 676

take the like terms

2Z² = 288

Divide through by

Z² = 144

z = 12

Hence the value of QM is 12
