Answer and explanation:

First of all, it is imperative that you feel confident your skills are good enough to take them to the work-frame. You do not have to be a guru in your field of study but make sure you have gotten good at the level that will allow you to be productive.

Second, research for companies that match your professional and personal profile. "XYZ" company might offer the best salaries in the market but if its working environment does not suit you, you are not likely to grow within the organization.

Once you find a firm of interest, prepare a CV and for the interview. Practice answering basic "cliche" interview questions related to your academic and professional background. Also about your personality.

Last but not least, after the interview request for a contact of he person to whom you spoke to follow up on the selection process. It is a good way to show them how interested you are in the job position and gives a professional image of your profile.
