The base is 12 because 48=b(8)1/2 8•1/2=4 and 4•12=48

Area of triangle= 1/2(bh)
So u do the reverse to find the base
48 x 2 which equals 96
Then u divide
96 divided by 8 = 12
Length of base equals 12
