Let the radius of the hemisphere be x, the radius of the sphere is 1/3x
the volume of the sphere will be:
V=4/3πr³
V=4/3×π×(1/3x)³
V=4/81πx³
Volume of the hemisphere will ve:
V=1/2×4/3πr³
v=2/3×π×x³
v=2/3πx³
comparing the two volume by dividing the the volume of the hemisphere by that of the sphere we obtain:
(2/3πx³)/(4/81πx³)
=13.5
this implies that the volume of the hemisphere is 13.5 times the volume of the sphere.
