Carol wants to improve her time in the 1600 meter run by the start of track season. Which part of the S.M.A.R.T Criteria is missing from this goal?

The answer is M.

She is Specific obviously.

It's Attainable/doable.

It is Relevant because she wants to do it.

And there's a Time of when she wants it done by the end of the season.

But it isn't Measurable because there's no way to keep track of the goal.

What is missing is the M which stands for measurable. Carol stands a much better chance of achieving her goals if she sets them the SMART way. SMART are initials that stand for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. TIME is also not mentioned here but I would rather stick to Measurable.

In this case, the reason why I selected Measurable is because the statement has not explained how we will know when Carol has achieved her goal. It also does not explain what measurements Carol will make and when.
