We are looking at two rectangles and a quarter of a circle. So this is how we will solve.

Area of a rectangle is length * width
Area of a circle is pi * radius²

The first rectangle right above the quarter circle is:

8 * 5 = 40 yd²

The second rectangle is:
2 * 6 = 12 yd²

Now for the quarter circle:
We are going to take the area of the circle and since it's a quarter of the whole thing, we divide it by 4.

pi * 4²
pi * 16

16pi / 4 = 4pi
4 * 3.14 = 12.56 yd²

Now we add them all together:

12.56 + 40 + 12
12.56 + 52
64.56

Your answer is 64.56 square yards
