For lines to be parallel they must have the same slope. y = mx + b
m is the slope.
We already know that the slope of line 1 is -7 and that the slope of line 3 is -5.

Now let's solve line 2.
Subtract x from both sides and then multiply by 5 to get rid of the coefficient in front of y. the slope of line 2 is also -5.
This means that Lines 2 and 3 are parallel.

Now let's solve for line 4. The distributive property gives us a slope is -1/7. But there is nothing to multiply it by so lines and 4 are not parallel.

Final Answer: Lines 2 and 3 are parallel.
Happy Mother's day!
