Explanation:

5 = 10 + a/2

subtract 10 from both sides so 5-10 and 10-10 which then leaves -5 = a/2

then divided a/2 by multiplying the reciprocal 2/a times -5 and a/2 times 2/a

which then leaves you with a = -10
