The questions over National identity affects the Military recruitment because to be part of a country's Military system a person needs to see the need to defend the country and also the person needs to be sure that he or she would be accepted and treated equally in the service of defending the nation . if an individual has doubts about his acceptance and nationality he will be unpatriotic about defending the country even if he is a very brave soldier and this act would affect the recruitment process because the military would have missed out on a fine soldier.

Secondly when the recruitment process then to disqualify people based on Nationality or ethnicity then the recruitment process would be affected negatively as well because the best might not be recruited

This is an issue in countries with different ethnicities. For example: most African and Middle-Eastern countries. A person born in Iraq, but ethnically Kurdish, will not feel represented by the Iraqi army because this army represents the Arab-majority that inhabits the country.
