Answer: Height= 0.019km

Explanation:

Things to consider;

The distance of the jet at the angle 0.5°

The vertical distance of the jet from the ground

The horizontal distance of the jet

Using imaginary lines these three components will form a right angle triangle which provides us valuable information in calculating the height of the jet from the ground.

Using the formulae: Sine of an angle= opposite side/ hypotenuse side

Where the opposite side is the side opposite to the angle 0.5 which is the height of the jet.

The hypotenuse side is the distance of the jet at the angle 0.5

Therefore, Sine 0.5= height/ 2.2km

Height = Sine 0.5×2.2

Height = 0.0087×2.2= 0.019km

Hence the height is 0.019km
