Indiana climate change:
It has been made clear by
several agencies
that over the past hundred years the
mean temperature of the state of Indiana
and the adjacent regions has gone up by
1° F
.
One most important factor that has resulted in this increase in the average temperature is the
rapidly increasing emission of the greenhouse gases.
Indiana has stayed in the
list of the top 10 states
that produce half of the
United States total greenhouse gases
.
Gradual and consistent degradation of the environment due to the greenhouse gases has culminated in
frequent flooding and rapid melting of the ice sheets
on the Great Lakes.
