2x+8=3y-------------(Equation 2)

By solving Equation 1 we get,


3x-y=2


y=3x-2---------------(Equation 3)

Now substituting equation 3 in equation 2,


2x+8=3y


2x+8=3\time (3x-2)


2x+8=9x-6


7x=14


x=2---------------(Equation 4)

Now substituting equation 4 in equation 3 we get,


y=3x-2


y=(3* 2)-2


y=6-2


y=4--------------(Equation 5)

Now,


y=kx


k=(y)/(x)


k=(4)/(2)


k=2

Therefore
k=2
