A fishing boat has raidoed the Coast guard for a helicopter to pick up and injured crew member. at the same time of the emergincy message, the boat is 700 km from the helicopter and heading toward it. The average speed of the boat is 25 kelometers per hour , and the average speed of the helicopter is 325 kelomaters per hour. how long will it take the helocopter to reach the boat?

The question is asking us to get the meeting point of the two and at what time would they arrive here given their individual speeds. Now what needs to be done here is first add their average speeds.

The total average speed = 325 + 25 = 350km/h

Now the distance the helicopter would have traveled would be ; 325/350 * 700 = 650km

The remaining distance left for the boat would be 700 - 650 = 50km

Now the time taken for this would be 650/325 or 50/25 = 2hours
