Pigs can be considered a good source of organs for xenotransplantation because:

  • They are mammals like humans.
  • They can be made to live in better environmental conditions so that the chances of transferring infectious agents along with them decreases.
  • The size of most of their organs is similar to humans.
  • As pigs are photogenically distant from humans, so there are fewer chances that the infectious agents which infect them would cause any harm in humans.
