Answer:

The estimate the population of the city in 2018 is 7 million.

Explanation:

The population of city in 2012 = 6.27 million.

The exponential growth rate = 1.25%

Now, to find the estimate population of the city in 2018.

Number of years(n) = 2018-2012 = 6 years.

Rate (r) = 1.25%.

Population in 2012(P) = 6.27 million.

Population in 2018 = A.

Now, putting the formula to find the population:

A=P(1+(r)/(100))^(n)

A=6.27(1+(1.25)/(100))^(6)

Adding the fraction in bracket.

A=6.27((101.25)/(100))^(6)

A=6.27(1.0125)^(6)

A=6.27* 1.0509

A=6.589

After estimating the population it will be 7 million.

As estimating is round up the value because in hundredth place it is 8 and in tenth place it is 5.

Therefore, the estimate the population of the city in 2018 is 7 million.
