Your friend offers to pay you $10 plus $2 per day if you will watch his dog while he's on vacation. Ant hot her friend offers you $15 plus $1 per day to watch her dog during the same time. You cannot do both jobs. Tell which job you would choose and explain why.

Well it depends on how long the vacation, but let’s say it was a week long trip then the first option would pay more with 24$ instead of 22$. But if it’s a short vacation definitely the first one

Answer:

Explanation:

Let x represent the number of days for which you will watch the dog. Assuming x is the same for both offers.

Your friend offers to pay you $10 plus $2 per day. Considering the offer of your friend, the total amount that you will receive for this offer will be

10 + 2x

Her friend offers you $15 plus $1 per day. Considering the offer of her friend, the total amount that you will receive for this offer will be

15 + x

Looking at both offers, the offer of your friend would yield more income as the number of days increases. This means that as x increases, the income will from your friend's offer will increase
