Answer:

The word equation is:

\text { hydrogen peroxide } \rightarrow \text { oxygen gas + water }

This reaction happens when there is the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. Thus, the equation would be

H_(2) O_(2) \rightarrow O_(2)+H_(2) O

Balancing the equation requires to have the same number of atoms of each element on both the side. To balance this equation we need to add 2 water (
H_2O) molecules and 2 hydrogen peroxide (
H_2O_2) molecules . As we know, oxygen is naturally diatomic. Thus, the balancing equation would be:

2 H_(2) O_(2) \rightarrow O_(2)+2 H_(2) O
