Explanation:

You can plug in answer choices, or you can get x by itself.

I got x by itself because it is faster. Simply subtract 15 from both sides.

So, you would get x = -2 - 15. Keep change change to subtract negative numbers => -2 + -15 which equals to -17.

So x = -17.

You can also plug it in: 15 + -17 does equal -2.
