Diane delivers newspapers for $5 a day plus $0.04 per newspaper delivered. Jeremy delivers newspapers for $2 a day plus $0.10 per newspaper delivered. How many newspapers would Diane and Jeremy each need to deliver in order to earn the same amount?

Payment for delivering newspapers per day for Diane= 5 dollars

Price for delivering one newspaper for Diane=0.04 dollar

Payment for delivering newspapers per day for Jeremy= 2 dollars

Price for delivering one newspaper for Jeremy=0.10 dollar

Let the Number of newspapers to be delivered by Diane and Jeremy each so that the amount earned by both is the same be 'x'.

Note:The payment they get per day 5 dollars,2 dollars are there fixed payments whereas 0004 dollar,0.10 dollar were the payment depending on the number of delivery's they make.

Now according to the question,


5+0.04x=2+0.1x


0.06x=2


x=33.33333.......
