Or earnings divided by hours.

Take a random pair of time and money earned:

b) Carl earns more per hour.

His earnings can be modeled with the equation y = 15x. For every hour he works, he earned 15 dollars.

Louis's earnings are y = 12x, meaning he earns 12 dollars an hour.
