William's family faced many problems such as poor income, floods, drought, famine and starvation due to the inability to grow crops.
Explanation:
William was a young school-going boy from a family of farmers who lived in a village called Wimbe of the African country Malawi. All the income of William's family was purely based on farming and due to less income, William already dropped his dream of getting education from the nearby school. When their country faced a prolonged flood which was followed by a drought, his family was unable to grow sufficient crops even for themselves.
Later a famine followed along making it even harder for the family to live. After observing all these problems, William decided to use his scratch knowledge from Electrical science to build a Wind turbine to use a water pump to draw out water and help everyone in the village.
