The gulf coastal plains consists of most of the Eastern and Southern factions of Texas. This region is surrounded by terrain, pine, hardwood forests and three large rivers - the Brazos, Colorado and the Trinity.
Due to this, it suffers from hot and humid climate most of the year and it is estimated that it rains around 35 inches per year. The winters are often mild with very less amount of rain. This makes this region vulnerable to hurricanes and suffers a lot of hurricanes per year.
