What Lee means is that Scout feels that school bores him.

As he says, he “gathered from Time magazine and reading everything I could lay hands on at home” which indicates that he was more advanced than his classmates, since he had learned to read and write from an early age.

Scout had high expectations before entering school, but once there, he realized that he would only spend the rest of the years in boredom.
