Little Mexican restaurant sells only two kinds of beef burritos: Mucho beef and Mucho Mucho beef. Last week in the restaurant sold 16 orders of the single Mucho variety and 22 orders of the double Mucho. If the restaurant sold $231 Worth of beef burritos last weekend and the single neutral kind cost $1 Less than the double Mucho how much did each type of burrito cost?

The cost of single and double mucho are $5.5 and $6.5 respectively.

Let:

  • cost of double mucho = d
  • single mucho = d - 1

Creating the equation which represents the scenario:

16(d - 1) + 22d = 231

16d - 16 + 22d = 231

38d - 16 = 231

38d = 231 + 16

38d = 247

d = 247/38

d = 6.5

Cost of Single mucho :

d - 1

6.5 - 1

= 5.5

The cost of single and double mucho are $5.5 and $6.5 respectively.
