Charles bought 4 shirts that each cost the same amount and a pair of jeans that cost $27.99.

If he spent a total of $87.99, how much did each shirt cost?

Answer:

The cost of each shirt is $ 15

Explanation:

The total money spent on cloths = $87.99

The cost of 1 pair of jeans = $27.99

The total number of shirt of same cost bought = 4

Let The cost of each shirt = S

4 S + $27.99 = $87.99

Or, 4 S = $87.99 - $27.99

Or, 4 S = $60

∴ S =
(60)/(4)

I.e S = $15

Hence The cost of each shirt is $ 15 Answer
