Ricky spent $90 at the supermarket. He $30 worth of fruit. He spent the rest of the money on steaks. If he bought 10 steaks and they each cost the same amount, what was the price of each steak?

Explanation:

Ricky has used a total of $90, this means that whatever he buys must all add up to $90. He then uses $30, so that would mean if he subtracted the fruit price from the total price he would have the rest of the money to buy meat. He now has $60 for meat, and he bought 10 steaks. That would mean if you divided the price by how many steaks he bought he would get the price of each steak.

$90=$30+10x

-$30 -$30

$60= 10x

÷10 ÷10

$6=x
