Answer:

The amount of yellow paint needed to prepare 5 gallons of green paints is
(3)/(2) gallon .

Explanation:

Given as :

The ratio of yellow paint to blue paint = 3 : 7

The total measure of green paint prepare with blue and yellow paint = 5 gallons

So, Let The amount of yellow paint = 3 x

And The amount of blue paint = 7 x

According to question :

The amount of yellow paint + The amount of blue paint = The total measure of green paint

Or, 3 x + 7 x = 5 gallons

Or, 10 x = 5 gallons

∴ x =
(5)/(10) =
(1)/(2)

so , The amount of yellow paint = 3 ×
(1)/(2) =
(3)/(2) gallon

And The amount of blue paint = 7 ×
(1)/(2) =
(7)/(2) gallon

Hence The amount of yellow paint needed to prepare 5 gallons of green paints is
(3)/(2) gallon . Answer
