Answer:

14

Explanation:

Given

  • C=5x+4y
  • x≤-2
  • x≥-4
  • y≥1
  • y≤6

Here we are asked to find the maximum value of C

C is a sum of factors of x and y

As both the co-efficients of x and y are positive, we have to select the maximum values of both in their given ranges

(if any of their co-efficients was negative, the term whose co-efficient is negative is to be substituted with its least value in its range to get maximum value of C)

Therefore Maximum value of x=-2 and y=6

therefore C

= 5* -2 + 4* 6\\= -10 + 24\\= 14

Therefore maximum value of C=14
