Answer:

32 AND 24

Explanation:

LET THE NUMBERS BE X AND Y

X= THE BIGGER NUMBER

Y=THE SMALLER NUMBER

X+(X-8)=56

2X-8=56

2X=56+8

2X=64

X=32

X+(X-8)

32+(32-8)

32+24

Answer:

The bigger numbers is 32

The smaller numbers is 24

Explanation:

Given as :

Let the first number = x

The second number = x - 8

The sum of two number = 56

Or, x + ( x - 8 ) = 56

Or, 2 x = 56 + 8

Or, 2 x = 64

∴ x =
(64)/(2) = 32

So, The first number = x = 32

The second number = 32 - 8 = 24

Hence The bigger numbers is 32

The smaller numbers is 24 Answer
