Answer: k = 1/4

Explanation:

The equation given is x - ky = 2

Make y the subject of the formula , we have

x - 2 = ky

that is

ky = x - 2

divide through by k

y =
(x)/(k) -
(2)/(k)

The equation of a line is given as y = mx + c , where m is the slope and c is the y - intercept. Comparing this with the resulting equation , it means

(1)/(k) is the slope

Equating this to the value of slope given , we have

(1)/(k) = 4 , therefore

k =
(1)/(4)
