The area of square for side 2 cm is 4 cm² , And yes area of square and length of side are directly proportional .

Explanation:

Given as for square ;

The side of square = a

The Area of square = side²

So, For side = a

The Area of square = a × a = a²

Now if a = 2 cm ,

So ,The side of square = a = 2 cm

∴ The Area of square = 2 × 2 = 2²

or, The Area of square = 4 cm²

So, from the above formula to get the area of square , it is clear the the side of square and the area of square are directly proportional quantities .

I.e Area of square ∝ side²

Hence the area of square for side 2 cm is 4 cm² , And yes area of square and length of side are directly proportional . Answer
