Explanation:

I put those ordered pairs in a chart

-2 5

Then I saw how many numbers it took to get two from five, which is 3. I also took how many numbers it would take to get from one to negative two, which is -3. I turned it i to slope form, y over x, and got 3/-3.

Solution:

Need to determine slope of the line passing through points (1,2) and (-2,5)

For a line passing through
\left(x_(1), y_(1)\right),\left(x_(2), y_(2)\right) , Slope of line "m" is given as,


m=(\left(y_(2)-y_(1)\right))/(\left(x_(2)-x_(1)\right))


\text { In our case } x_(1)=1, y_(1)=2, x_(2)=-2, y_(2)=5

Substituting given value in "m" we get:


m=((5-2))/((-2-1))=-(3)/(3)=-1

Hence slope of the line passing through (1,2) and (-2,5) is -1
