Answer:

Bananas = $3.6/ kg

Oranges = $3.1/ kg

Explanation:

Let represent Bananas by B and Oranges by O:

According to given conditions:

2B + 3O = $16.50 .........eq1

O + 0.50 = B ................. eq2

By taking eq2:

O = B - 0.50............. eq3

Now putting value of O in eq1 we get:

2B + 3(B - 0.50) = $16.50

By simplifying we get:

2B + 3B - 1.5 = $16.50

5B = $(16.50 + 1.5)

5B = $18

B = $3.6

Putting value of B in eq3

O = $3.6 -0.50

O = $3.1

So the cost for Bananas And Oranges per kilogram are:

Bananas = B = $3.6

Oranges = O = $3.1

I hope it will help you!
