Father is 52 in 7 years.

52-7=45, he is 45 right now

45/5=9. Jane is 9 right now

Let J be Jane's age

Let F me fathers age

4(9+x)=45+x

36+4x=45+x (now take away 36 and x from each side)

3x=9

x=3

In 3 years Jane will be 12 and her Father will be 48. 48/12=4
