5(6 + 2) = (5 • 6) + (5 • 2) would simplify to
30 + 10 = 30 + 10
30 + 10 is equal to 40
40 = 40, which means this is true
2(4 + 6) = (2 • 4) + (2 • 6) would be simplified to
8 + 12 = 8 + 12
8 + 12 is 20
20 = 20, which is true :)
