The contact hypothesis—the idea that bringing together people of different races and ethnicities will lead to reduced prejudice and discrimination—does appear to have support, but only when certain conditions occur in addition to the straightforward bringing together of groups. Which are among these conditions and which are not?

Answer:

(Positive) conditions :

A community's broader social norms support intergroup contact.

One-on-one interactions between members of different groups are encouraged.

The different groups have a shared goal.

(Negative) Condition :

One group has a higher status than the other.

Step-by-step explanation:

The positive conditions would encourage bonding between people, it would create a really good and healthy enviroment.

The negative condition would encourage the rest of the groups to "join" and separate themselves of that group with higher status. It would not reduce prejudice and discrimination.
