2x-y=6

-y=6-2x

y=-6+2x

y=2x-6

So you want a slope parallel to that of y=2x-6

So the slope will be m=2

Now you use the point slope formula to plug it in. Let (x1,y1) be (3,-1) so x1=3 and y1=-1

And let m=2

So

y-y1=m(x-x1)

So you have

y-(-1)=2(x-(3))

so this gives you

y+1=2(x-3)

Solving for y

You get

y=2(x-3)-1

y=2x-6-1

y=2x-7

So your answer is

y=2x-7

Hope this helps!
