Ross has a rectangular garden in his back yard he measures one side of the garden as 22 ft and the diagonal as 33 ft what is the length of the other side of his garden round to the nearest 20 of a foot

Answer: length of the other side of his garden round to the nearest 20 of a foot =25ft

Explanation:

The diagonal divides the rectangle into two equal triangles

From the diagram drawn in the picture attached, a triangle is formed with

hypotenuse = 33ft (length of diagonal)

Opposite side = 22ft( length of one side)

Adjacent side = xft(length of the other side)

From Pythagoras theorem

Hypotenuse ^2 = opposite^2 + adjacent^2

33^2 = 22^2 +x^2

33^2 -22^2 = x^2

x^2= 1089-484 =605

x = √605= 24.597

This is approximately 25ft rounded up to the nearest 20 of a foot
