Trundle wheels are used to measure distances along the ground.

The radius of the trundle wheel is 20 cm.
Jim wants to work out the distance between two junctions on a road.
He rolls the trundle wheel between the two junctions.
The trundle wheel rotates exactly 34 times.
Work out the distance between the two junctions.

Answer:

4274 meters

Explanation:

The radius (r) of the wheel is 20 cm.

So, complete rotation of the wheel will cover 2πr distance.

This is the length of the circumference =
(2* 22 * 20)/(7) =125.71 cm

Now, if the wheel rotates exactly 34 times between two junctions of a road, then the distance between the two junctions will be (125.71 × 34) = 4274.28 cm = 42.74 meters ≈ 43 meters. {Rounded to the nearest meters}
