The interior angles of any triangle add up to 180º in measure. This means the missing angle in ABC is

180º - 61º - 59º = 60º

which means the missing angle in DEF has measure 61º. The two triangles are then similar because their angles are congruent, which is the angle-angle (AA) postulate.
