A city is planning a new sports park. The total area (in square feet) of the park

is modeled by the expression 9x2 + 4x – 5. The area of the park designated for
soccer fields is modeled by the expression 2x2 - 5x + 3. Write an expression
that models the area of the park that is not designated for soccer fields.

Answer:

7x^(2) +9x-8 in square feet

Explanation:

we have that

The total area of the park is ---->
9x^(2) +4x-5

The area of the park designated for soccer fields is -->
2x^(2) -5x+3

we know that

To find out the area of the park that is not designated for soccer fields, subtract the area of the park designated for soccer fields from the total area of the park

so

9x^(2) +4x-5-(2x^(2) -5x+3)

Remove the parenthesis

9x^(2) +4x-5-2x^(2)+5x-3

Combine like terms

7x^(2) +9x-8
