After World War 1, there were many consequences for the United States, although in general, the economy went from the prosperous years of the "Roaring 1920s" to the harsh times due to the Great Depression that started in October 1929, after the US stock market crash. The Bonus Army was one of those sequels in the American troops that fought during the war. Also known as the "Bonus Expeditionary Force," this was a group of former veterans that fought in WW1. They and their families added up to 43,000 people that organized protests in 1932 in Washington D.C. to demand cash redemption of their certificates earned by service.
