Answer:

Option C) 5 pounds of ground beef for $11.50 does not re[present the same price per pound.

Explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Maggie purchased 8 pounds of ground beef for $18.00.

Thus, cost for 1 pound of beef =

\displaystyle\frac{\text{Total Cost}}{\text{Amount of beef}} = (18)/(8) = \$2.25

Price per pound = $2.25

Cost of 10 pounds of beef =

\text{Cost of 1 pound of beef}* 10 = 2.25* 10 = \$22.5

Cost of 4 pounds of beef =

\text{Cost of 1 pound of beef}* 4 = 2.25* 4 = \$9

Cost of 5 pounds of beef =

\text{Cost of 1 pound of beef}* 5 = 2.25* 5 = \$11.25

Cost of 2 pounds of beef =

\text{Cost of 1 pound of beef}* 2 = 2.25* 2 = \$4.5

Option C) 5 pounds of ground beef for $11.50 does not re[present the same price per pound.

According to $2.25 rate, 5 pounds of beef will cost $11.25 not $11.50.
