Answer:

The value of y when x equals 19 in 2x-5y = -28 is y = -2

Solution:

Given that the expression is 2x-5y = -28

We have to find the value of y when x equals 18

Substituting x = -19 in the above equation,

2(-19) – 5y = -28

On solving the terms inside the bracket, by multiplying 2 with -19 we get -38

-38-5y=-28

Cancelling the negative sign on both sides, we get

38+5y= 28

5y = -10

On dividing -10 by 5 we get -2.

y= -2

Hence the value of y when x equals 19 in 2x-5y = -28 is y = -2
