count all the coloured squares:

easiest way to do this is count to where the coloured squares stop at width and multiply by legth which we know is 10.

6 × 10 = 60

the fraction is 60/100

in case these are not the correct length and width here is the formula.

length × width or total number of squares = denominator

total number of coloured squares = numerator
