(x-5) (x+2) + 2x = 8 + (x - 4)^2 + 1
x^2 - 3x - 10 + 2x = 8 + x^2 - 8x + 16 + 1
x^2 - x - 10 = x^2 - 8x + 25
x^2 + 7x - 10 = x^2 + 25
7x - 10 = 25
7x = 35
x = 5
